Why we are plant-based
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." ~ Albert Einstein
Our food contains no animal products, except for our fruit range, which is sweetened with a dash of North Island honey.
We don't need meat or dairy products to be healthy. We don't need to cause cruelty, or use up vast tracts of farmland, to be healthy.
"If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others, why wouldn't we?" ~ Pam Ahern, Edgar's Mission.
A vegan or vegetarian diet is more sustainable and less demanding on the environment and our planet.
"Clean protein is protein that is largely absent of saturated fat. It doesn't have cholesterol. It doesn't have pathogens, like E. coli, salmonella. It doesn't have antibiotics. It doesn't have drug residues."
~ Kathy Freston, on Eat for the Planet.
If a mouse hoarded more cheese than it could eat while all the other mice starved, scientists would study that mouse to see what was wrong with it. When humans do it, we put them on the cover of Forbes magazine.
