Life in a nutshell
In early 2020 Treetop relocated to New Zealand. We are sourcing ingredients, checking out kitchens, and hope to be up
and running on the North Island soon.
If you love cheese or are lactose intolerant, vegetarian or just like new food experiences, these nutcheeses are for you. Hand-made in central Victoria with the best organic products where possible, our macadamia and almond nutcheeses have the melt-in-the-mouth feel and flavour of a good marinated soft cheese.
We are exploring new tastes from the Australian bush food pantry too, such as Davidson's Plum, Mountain Pepper, Strawberry Gum and Lemon Myrtle.
Our full range of nutcheeses are vegan and 'beegan'. (Our fruit nutcheeses will be sweetened with a dash of organic honey from central Victoria.)
Try them on a cheese plate, in your favourite recipes, as a toasted nutcheese sanger, mixed into pasta sauce, with wine, with beer, on crackers, anytime!
Andrew McKenna is the founder of Treetop Foods. He moved to central Victoria in 1999 with his family, and loves good food that doesn't cost the earth or future generations.
An award-winning journalist, he believes much of today's food causes suffering, and once you realise that, there's no going back!
He contributes regularly to Kiva, an organisation helping lift people in poor countries to create their own businesses, especially ethical food businesses.
